The Perfect Hen House

This large hen house is built in Britain from FSC® certified 15mm shiplap cladding. Supported by 45 x 45mm and 45 x 28mm frames, and rounded off with a smooth-planed finish, it provides your hens with a strong, stylish, weatherproof home, which will last them for years.

Pressure treated and supplied with a fabulous 10-year anti-rot guarantee, no further treatment is required, saving you time and money.

Plywood Floor and Onduline Roof

Exceptionally hardwearing and easy to clean, the floor is made from 12mm plywood. It is raised off the ground for protection against rot-causing ground moisture.

The pent roof is constructed from 3mm Onduline. This lightweight material provides excellent sound absorption, outstanding weathertightness, and protects against red mite infestation.

The Hen Hut's 2-Tier Design

This hen hut's large front door offers you very easy access to the interior, which is great for when you need to give it a clean. It is fitted with a pad bolt and turn buttons to keep the hen house secure (padlocks not supplied).

The smaller door on the ground level features a drop-down ramp, allowing your hens to trot into the garden for exercise. The smaller door on the first floor is designed purely for ventilation, so is fitted with a wire mesh to keep the hens safely inside.

A fourth door is fitted to the raised nesting box, located at the side of the hen house. This offers you easy access to your eggs. All 3 of these smaller doors are fitted with turn buttons to keep them secure.

DOORS

The wooden hen house has a total of 4 doors. The main large door, offers access to the central body of the hut, which allows for easy cleaning. 

Two smaller doors are located on the other side of the hen house and a final door situated on the raised nesting box, allowing you easy access to your eggs. 

SECURITY

The large door is fitted with a pad bolt and turn buttons (padlocks not supplied).

The upper door is primarily designed to aid ventilation, and is fitted with wire mesh to keep the hens safely inside.

Pressure Treatment Process Explained

The Pressure Treatment process for timber has been applied to products for a number of years; the key benefit of this process is that the preservative is forced under vacuum pressure right deep into the heart of the wood and the grain structure. The preservative becomes an integral part of the wood; giving a long life and protection against rot.

 

This process also means that you never have to apply preservatives to your hen house, and it allows the natural colours of the timber to show through and so your hen house blends easily within your garden.

VACUUM

Timber is loaded into chamber and a vacuum empties timber cells of air.

FLOODED

Cylinder is flooded under vacuum with preservative.

PRESSURE

Preservative is forced deep into timber using hydraulic pressure.

VACUUM

Another vacuum extracts excess preservative.

 

DRY

Timber draws in surface excess of preservative under low pressure, then is left to dry.

All of the products that we sell are dispatched from this site. The final part of their journey is managed by our dedicated delivery department who are responsible for distribution direct to customers' homes by our fleet of vehicles.

Two days before delivery, you will receive a 4-hour time slot via text message. You are able to respond to this text and we welcome any helpful delivery instructions to ensure a successful delivery. Then, on the morning of delivery, you will receive a 2-hour ETA via email. This includes a link to track your driver’s progress.

 

Upon arrival, the friendly driver will deliver your order to a place of your choice - as long as it is a reasonable request and it is safe to do so - within your garden. Please ensure they have unrestricted access, which does not involve passing through your home or garage. We would not risk damaging your property whilst delivering a product to an un-safe location. All product packaging will be removed and taken away with the driver!
