A Large Chicken Coop

This large chicken coop is built in Britain from FSC® certified 12mm tongue and groove cladding. Supported by 45 x 45mm and 45 x 28mm frames, and rounded off with a smooth-planed finish, it provides your chickens with a strong, stylish, weatherproof home, which will last them for years.

Pressure treated and supplied with a fabulous 10-year anti-rot guarantee, no further treatment is required, saving you time and money.

Plywood Floor and Tongue & Groove Roof

Exceptionally hardwearing and easy to clean, the floor is made from 12mm plywood. The reverse apex roof is constructed from 12mm tongue and groove, with an 18mm top board, so provides excellent weatherproof protection.

Nesting Area and Chicken Run

Two large exterior doors offer you easy access to both the nesting area and run. Each are fitted with turn buttons to keep them secure.

The chicken run is made from wire mesh and a sturdy wooden frame. A small rope attachment allows you to lift up the door that leads from nesting area to run, so your chickens can walk down the wooden ramp and get their regular exercise.

Pressure Treatment Process Explained

The Pressure Treatment process for timber has been applied to products for a number of years; the key benefit of this process is that the preservative is forced under vacuum pressure right deep into the heart of the wood and the grain structure. The preservative becomes an integral part of the wood; giving a long life and protection against rot.

 

This process also means that you never have to apply preservatives to your chicken coop, and it allows the natural colours of the timber to show through and so your chicken coop blends easily within your garden.

VACUUM

Timber is loaded into chamber and a vacuum empties timber cells of air.

FLOODED

Cylinder is flooded under vacuum with preservative.

PRESSURE

Preservative is forced deep into timber using hydraulic pressure.

VACUUM

Another vacuum extracts excess preservative.

 

DRY

Timber draws in surface excess of preservative under low pressure, then is left to dry.

All of the products that we sell are dispatched from this site. The final part of their journey is managed by our dedicated delivery department who are responsible for distribution direct to customers' homes by our fleet of vehicles.

Upon arrival, the friendly driver will deliver your order to a place of your choice - as long as it is a reasonable request and it is safe to do so - within your garden. Please ensure they have unrestricted access, which does not involve passing through your home or garage. We would not risk damaging your property whilst delivering a product to an un-safe location. All product packaging will be removed and taken away with the driver!
